Playdoh Digraphs

Playdoh Digraphs

Aim of the Game:

Who doesn’t love playing with Playdoh? When exploring a new digraph (2 letters that make one sound) it is really important that children repeatedly say aloud the phoneme and write the digraph. This can be repetitive and disengaging so why not try writing/forming it in different ways. Constructing letters from Playdoh is more challenging than you think!

What do you need?

  • Tray/whiteboard/paper
  • Playdoh

How to Play:

  • Practise saying the digraph that you are practising.
  • Say the letter names needed to make the digraph.
  • Make the letters of the digraph out of Playdoh.
  • Then have a go at writing the digraphs.
