Aim of the Game:
This is a really simple but effective activity to help understand place value using a pill box and dice.
What do you need?
- Pill box with place value labels on – you can usually pick the boxes up from pound shops.
- Dice for each section of the box – normal size dice work.
- Whiteboard or paper
How to Play:
- Shake the box and children can read the number that has been made and write it down.
- It is also great to help children multiply and divide by 10, 100 or 1000 as children can physically move the dice into each section.
