Plural Roll

Plural Roll

Aim of the Game

Be the first player to correctly write the plural form of six different words by rolling a dice and applying the correct plural rule.

What You Need

  • 1 dice
  • A list or chart showing plural endings linked to numbers 1–6 (for example: -s, -es, -ies, -ves, etc.)
  • Six singular words, each matching one of the plural rules
  • A piece of paper for each player with the numbers 1–6 written down
  • A pencil or pen for each player
  • 2 or more players

How to Play

  1. Prepare the Game
Create a chart that shows a plural ending for each number from 1 to 6.
  2. Provide six singular words, each one needing one of these rules to become plural.
  3. Set Up
Each player writes the numbers 1 to 6 down the side of their paper.
  4. Roll the Dice
Players take turns rolling the dice.
  5. Find the Matching Word
The number rolled tells the player which plural rule to use. They must find the singular word that matches that rule.
  6. Write the Plural
The player writes the correct plural form of that word next to the matching number on their paper.
  7. Continue Taking Turns
Players keep rolling the dice and writing the correct plural words until all six numbers on their sheet have been completed.
  8. Win the Game
The first player to correctly write all six plural words is the winner.
