This activity encourages children to use different openers and connectives in their sentence writing. I’ve used the dice I have from the game Boggle but you can buy letter dice (or download and make my ones here).
What do you need?
Letter dice or letters on pieces of paper
Whiteboard or paper
How to Play:
On paper or a whiteboard, children have the headings opener, noun, connective and adjective.
Roll the dice which tells you the first letter of each of these word types.
The first challenge is to think of a word from each category beginning with their dice letter and then use these words to build a complex sentence.
