Aim of the Game:
This is a different way to practice times tables and enable children to be able to count in different multiples.
What do you need?
- 12 Milk bottle tops with the multiples of your chosen times table written on them
- 2 die

How to Play:
- First place all the multiples in a clock face shape (you could draw one on paper to make it slightly easier). This is an interesting shape as children may start with the x12, x3, x6, x9 multiples first as they are easier to position and then fill in the gaps. This is good as then they’re not remembering the times table by rote.
- Next, roll one or two dice, add up the dots and then remove that multiple of from the circle.
- The game continues until all of the multiples have been removed. Encourage children to say 3 x 7 = 21 as they play. You could play this as a two player game if you have two sets of bottle tops and then race to see who removes their clock first.
Lots of variations on this! You could have a spinner instead of dice and if the spinner lands on 28 they have to tell you that’s 4×7.
