Fill the Grid

Fill the Grid

Aim of the Game:

This is a game to help children with calculating area. The winner is the player who covers the greatest area on the board.

What do you need?

  • You need a blank 100 square (these are so good for loads of games by the way)
  • A dice
  • Some stamps, pens, stickers, paint (basically whatever you want to use to colour in the squares).

How to Play:

🎨 Player one rolls the dice twice to make a multiplication question, e.g. I rolled a 3 twice so my calculation is 3×3=9.
🎨 Player one then fills this area in on the blank 100 square using their coloured stamp/sticker/pen.
🎨 Now player two takes their turn doing the same but this time, covering their required area with their coloured pen.
🎨 Continue to take it in turns until the board is full.
🎨 When the board has been filled up, each player must add up all their areas to find the total area that they covered on the board.
🎨 The winner is the player who has covered the greatest area.
