A really simple set up to help children practise using different types of punctuation.
What do you need?
a 3 x 3 grid with a punctuation mark written in each square (you could draw this on a whiteboard or a piece of paper)
two different coloured post-it notes
How to Play:
The first player chooses a square to place their post-it in but must write a sentence which includes that piece of punctuation on it before sticking it down.
The next player plays in the same way, choosing where they want to place their post-it and write their sentence.
The winner is the first person to stick three of their post-it notes in a row; horizontally, vertically or diagonally.
Quick and easy to set up and encourages writing, using punctuation and most importantly all while having fun with a well known game.
