This is a nice activity to do if you have a reluctant writer or a writer who needs to work on extending their sentences (adding more detail to them).

🧱 Make a block pyramid on the floor (it can have more layers on it depending on what you want your child to do).
🧱 At the side add what you want the children to include in their sentence (you can change my labels by adding things like sentence openers, preposition, etc depending on what your child needs to focus on).
🧱 Now children start at the top of the pyramid and think of a noun first and then work their way down the pyramid, including all the things on the labels.
🧱 If you wanted to turn this into a game, each player could have their own pyramid and the first one to complete it correctly wins!
I bet you’ll find that children are more motivated to do a bit of writing if they’re on the floor playing this than if they were sat at a table with pen and paper!
