Silent Letter Roll

In “Silent Letter Roll,” players embark on a spelling adventure to enhance their understanding of words with silent letters. The aim is to practice adding silent letters to words correctly, reinforcing spelling skills and expanding vocabulary in an engaging and interactive manner.

NC Spelling Appendix Statutory Requirements – Words with ‘silent’ letters (i.e. letters whose presence cannot be predicted from the pronunciation of the word)

What You Need: Prepare for a spelling challenge with the following items:

Dice Template: Assemble the provided dice template, which will determine the silent letter to be added to the words.
List of Words with Gaps: Each player creates their own list of words with silent letters, leaving a gap where the silent letter should be inserted. Prepare 6-10 words for each player.
Writing Utensil: Players will need something to write with to add the silent letters to their words as they roll the dice and complete them.
