Translation Race

Introducing “Translation Race” – the engaging and educational printable game designed to sharpen the spatial skills of students in Year 4, Year 5, and Year 6 as they embark on a journey of translations.

National Curriculum Objectives:

  • Year 4: Describe movements between positions as translations of a given unit to the left/right and up/down.
  • Year 5: Identify, describe, and represent the position of a shape following a reflection or translation, using the appropriate language, and understand that the shape remains unchanged.
  • Year 6: Draw and translate simple shapes on the coordinate plane, and reflect them in the axes.

Aim of the Game: Be the first player to successfully translate your shape to the opposite side of the grid by mastering the art of translation.
