Spot the difference

Spot the difference

Aim of the Game:

Here’s a quick and easy spelling, reading and punctuation activity where children have to spot the difference between a passage from a book with the passage that you have written out.

What do you need?

  • A book (with a chosen passage)
  • Pen and paper or whiteboard and whiteboard pen
  • Coloured counters or highlighters

How to Play:

📖 Find a book with a short passage in it and make it visible to the children.
📖 Write the same passage out on a whiteboard or paper but add in some punctuation and spelling mistakes.
📖 Now children play ‘Spot the Difference’ and they have to cover with a counter, highlight or underline all the differences they can find.
📖 You could then get them to explain to you what mistakes you have made when copying it out (they will love correcting all your mistakes)!
