Aim of the game:
Be the first player to cut all the tenths from their strip of paper.
What do you need?
How to Play:
- Prepare Your Strip:
- Each player takes a strip of paper and divides it into 10 equal parts.
- Write “1/10” in each section.
- Start Rolling:
- Players take turns rolling the dice.
- The number rolled determines how many tenths they must cut off their strip.
- Cut the Tenths:
- If a player rolls a 3, they cut off 3/10 of their strip.
- Players continue rolling and cutting until they remove all their tenths.
- Writing Calculations (Optional Challenge):
- Players can write down their fraction subtraction each turn.
- Example: If they start with 10/10 and roll a 4, they record 10/10 – 4/10 = 6/10.
- This helps reinforce the concept of subtracting fractions.
- Winning the Game:
- The first player to cut off all 10/10 of their strip wins!
