This game would help children practise their times tables. For this example I’ve chosen the 7 times table but you can adapt if for any you are practising.
What do you need?
Two 3×2 grids with each times table from 1×7 to 12x 7 written in each box.
12 milk bottle tops with the answers to the times table questions (all the multiples of 7).
How to Play:
Players have one card each and you should put all the bottle tops into a bag.
Without looking, take turns to pick a bottle top from the bag. If you pick out ‘42’ and you have ‘6×7’ on their card, you can cover the question on your card.
If you don’t have the question that matches with the answer, put the bottle top back in the bag.
Play continues until one player covers all of the questions on their board.
Playing games will really help consolidate understanding of times tables and it’s fun!
