Times Table Match

Times Table Match

Aim of the Game:

This game would help children practise their times tables. For this example I’ve chosen the 7 times table but you can adapt if for any you are practising.

What do you need?

  • Two 3×2 grids with each times table from 1×7 to 12x 7 written in each box.
  • 12 milk bottle tops with the answers to the times table questions (all the multiples of 7).

How to Play:

  • Players have one card each and you should put all the bottle tops into a bag.
  • Without looking, take turns to pick a bottle top from the bag. If you pick out ‘42’ and you have ‘6×7’ on their card, you can cover the question on your card.
  • If you don’t have the question that matches with the answer, put the bottle top back in the bag.
  • Play continues until one player covers all of the questions on their board.

Playing games will really help consolidate understanding of times tables and it’s fun!
