Magic Numbers – Identify, Represent and Estimate (Yr4)
Aim of the Game:
Here’s a bit of a twist to a number line activity. The aim of the game is to work out what the missing numbers would be on a number line.
What do you need?
I’ve drawn a number line with different intervals and numbers on them.
Write in the missing numbers with a white pencil or crayon.

How to Play:
Players have got to work out the missing numbers on the number lines but instead of writing it on themselves, they can check to see if they’re correct by colouring over the space where the number should be (in a felt tip pen).
I’ve written the answer in a white pencil (or crayon) on the paper so as the children colour, it will reveal the answer (just tell them not to look too closely before they work it out for themselves as they will be able to see the number)!
They could then move onto creating their own number lines for others to reveal the answer.
