Crocodile Pong – Read, Write, Order and Compare Numbers (Yr5)
Aim of the Game:
This is a fun game which will help children practise reading, writing, ordering and comparing numbers.
What do you need?
Egg box
Empty carton/box
Ping pong balls with numbers written on (could either be whichever numbers you child(ren) need to practise).
How to Play:
Put a selection of balls with numbers written on in a bag and ask children to select two of them.
Read the numbers aloud and decide which is the bigger number. Then play ‘Crocodile Pong’ where children throw the bigger number into the crocodile’s mouth.
Place both balls in the egg box (here the children will be ordering them). Where do they think they will go?
Once they have repeated with all 6 balls they should make sure that all are in order in the egg box from smallest to largest.
