Crocodile Pong – Read, Write, Order and Compare Numbers (Yr5)

Crocodile Pong – Read, Write, Order and Compare Numbers (Yr5)

Aim of the Game:

This is a fun game which will help children practise reading, writing, ordering and comparing numbers.

What do you need?

  • Egg box
  • Empty carton/box
  • Ping pong balls with numbers written on (could either be whichever numbers you child(ren) need to practise).

How to Play:

  • Put a selection of balls with numbers written on in a bag and ask children to select two of them.
  • Read the numbers aloud and decide which is the bigger number. Then play ‘Crocodile Pong’ where children throw the bigger number into the crocodile’s mouth.
  • Place both balls in the egg box (here the children will be ordering them). Where do they think they will go?
  • Once they have repeated with all 6 balls they should make sure that all are in order in the egg box from smallest to largest.
