The aim of the game, known as “Prediction Line,” is to have fun while enhancing your prediction skills and imagination. In this game, players will select picture books, arrange them in a line on the floor, roll a dice, move themselves the indicated number of book spaces, and then make predictions about the stories in the selected books.
What do you need?
A selection of picture books
A dice
How to Play:
Set Up:
Lay out the selected picture books in a line on the floor, with their covers facing up.
Players stand at the starting point of the book line.
Roll the Dice:
Players take turns rolling the dice. The number rolled indicates how many book spaces the player can move themselves forward along the line of books.
Make Predictions:
When a player lands on a book, they pick it up and predict what they think will happen in the story based on the cover illustration or title.
Turn Over the Book:
After making their prediction, the player turns the book over so that the next person who lands on it will have to predict the story based on the blurb or summary at the back of the book.
Continue Play:
Players take turns rolling the dice, moving along the line of books, and making predictions as they land on each book.
Winning:
The first player to reach the end of the book line wins the game. The winner can be determined either by being the first to predict a specific number of books correctly or simply by being the first to reach the end.
“Prediction Line” is a creative and enjoyable game that encourages players to use their imagination and storytelling abilities while having a good time with friends and family.
